Raven solution - Service Terms
Service Terms describe your Raven connected-vehicle solution
What are these TELUS Service Terms for the Raven solution?
The Raven connected-vehicle solution provides video telematics, in-car Wi-Fi and tracks your car's activity and location.
The service is made up of the following three components: the Raven+ device ("Device"), the Raven website ("Website") and the Raven Connected mobile application ("Application").
The Device, which is manufactured by Raven Connected, is designed to be used with either the Website or the Application once connected to your car's on-board diagnostics ("OBD-II") port for power. Once connected, the device will auto-provision and start reporting data to the Website and the Application. The Website and the Application, which are developed by Raven Connected and are designed to be used with a compatible mobile device: (a) collect and displays various telemetry information from the Device such as your car's location, driver behavior and trips taken; (b) enable account administrators to review both supporting video for the time of events and live stream videos from the vehicles to see what is happening at the vehicles' location; (c) manage the in-car Wi-Fi service; (d) provides basic car diagnostics such as translating car error codes when available; and (e) may allow you to access other services (including third party services). The Device, Website and Application are collectively referred to in this agreement as the "Service".
What do I need to use the Service?
In order to use the Service you must: (a) purchase the Device from TELUS or its authorized dealer; (b) perform the initial set-up of your Raven account; (c) install the Device in your car's OBD-II port; and (d) maintain an eligible TELUS Raven mobility rate plan. If your circumstances change and you no longer satisfy all the eligibility requirements immediately above, you will no longer be eligible to use the Service and we may terminate your access to the Service without notice to you.
You can use the Service only for your own internal use and in compliance with the law. You also agree and acknowledge as follows:
- You must install the Device in a car that is owned or controlled by you.
- You must install the Device in a compatible car as discussed during the acquisition process. If unsure, you will reach out to . Do not install or remove the device while your car is running.
- You are responsible for ensuring the Device is installed securely and properly in your car's OBD-II port. Recommended installation guidelines are available through
- You must install and use the Application on a compatible mobile device or leverage the Website on a compatible browser.
- You are responsible for following safe driving practices at all times, including driving in accordance with all traffic laws and laws regarding use of mobile devices while driving. Do not use the Website or Application while driving.
- The Device goes into sleep mode when your car is not in use, which reduces battery drain. You should unplug the Device if you plan to park your car for several weeks at a time to help avoid battery drain.
- The functional use of the Service requires your Device to be connected to the TELUS networks ("Networks"). Your failure to use the Networks will limit the functionality of the Service.
When my data plan will be used?
The Device will be constantly sending telemetry information. This activity uses data from your Raven mobility rate plan. This data usage will continue, even if your car's engine is turned off. The only way to stop the Device from using data is to unplug the Device from the OBD-II port, which should only be done while your car is not running. Finally, the in-car Wi-Fi service also uses data from your Raven mobility rate plan.
What would happen while I am driving outside of Canada?
As your Raven unit is installed in a vehicle, if such vehicle goes outside of Canada, TELUS will bill at the default roaming plan without notice.
What is not supported?
