Political campaign-related text messages

Certain messages sent by and on behalf of political parties and candidates running for office are exempt from Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). As a result, you may receive unsolicited political related messages during or before an election campaign.

If you have no interest in any of these messages, the best course of action if you receive one is to delete it from your device. If you suspect that a message that you receive is truly spam or malicious in nature, then you should forward the message to our Spam Report Service to the short code 7726.
