How to create or select a personal voicemail greeting
Personal Greetings
To establish a personal greeting, first dial into the voicemail system. Either:
- From your mobile device, dial 1 + your 10-digit cellular number + CALL
Or - From a landline, dial your 10-digit mobile number and select the star key to interrupt the system greeting
When prompted, enter your password. You are now in the Main Menu of the voicemail system:
- Select 4 for Personal Options
- Select 3 for Greetings/Name Options
- Select 1 to Select/Record the Greeting
- Select 1 for Personal Greeting.
Note: Voice Mail 25 and Mike Advanced Voice Mail customers can record up to 4 greetings and can choose one to be the active greeting - Select 2 to Record Greeting
- Record a greeting (maximum 1 minute) then select the # key to end recording
- Select the # key to Accept Greeting
Standard Greetings
The Standard Greeting is the default greeting. It announces that you are not available, using either your name or phone number.
To re-establish a standard greeting, first dial into the voicemail system. Either:
- From your mobile device, dial 1 + your 10-digit cellular number + CALL
Or - From a landline, dial your 10-digit mobile number and select the star key to interrupt the system greeting
When prompted, enter your password. You are now in the Main Menu of the voicemail system:
- Select 4 for Personal Options
- Select 3 for Greetings
- Select 1 to Select/Record Greeting
- Select 5 to Select Standard System Greeting. When callers reach voicemail, they will hear a recording that states that the subscriber is not available.
Note: The standard greeting is initially set at your mobile number. You can customize it by changing your recorded name: - Select 4 for Personal Options
- Select 3 for Greetings
- Select 4 to change recorded name, and
- Record your name or mobile number
Extended absence greeting
An extended absence greeting lets you record an alternate greeting without deleting your standard or personal greeting. It can be used as an after-hours message or for special instructions.
To add an Extended Absence Greeting, first dial into the voicemail system. Either:
- From your mobile device, dial 1 + your 10-digit cellular number + CALL
Or - From a landline, dial your 10-digit mobile number and select the star key to interrupt the system greeting
When prompted for a password, enter your password. You are now in the Main Menu of the voicemail system:
- Select 4 for Personal Options
- Select 3 for Greetings
- Select 3 for an Extended Absence Greeting
- Select the number sign to Record the greeting
- Select a greeting (maximum 1 minute) and press the # key to end recording
- Select the # key to accept the greeting
To allow or disallow the ability for callers to leave messages after the greeting is played:
- Message Deposit Allowed After Greeting: Press 1
- Message Deposit Not Allowed After Greeting: Press 2
To delete the extended absence greeting:
- Access your voicemail and enter your password
- Select 7 when prompted to delete the extended absence greeting
