Please ensure that:
You have your device with your old SIM card powered on or with your old eSIM still active. You will be sent a text message from your previous service provider on the number you want to transfer. You must respond to that message to confirm the transfer. Do not discard your old SIM or delete your old eSIM
You have an active TELUS Mobility account
The area code of your existing phone number matches your local service area
The number you intend to transfer to TELUS is active
You have your phone, account number of your previous service provider and, if possible, your service agreement when you move your number
Important:
Please do not cancel your account with your previous service provider until your number is successfully transferred to TELUS. Once the transfer is complete, your previous service will be automatically cancelled.
Here’s how you can make sure the old service provider’s eSIM is still active so that you will receive the security verification text message:
When porting in to TELUS, from your iPhone, go to
Settings
, then
Cellular
Please make sure the eSIM of your old service provider is
On
. This way you can receive the security verification text message from your old service provider

Important
: Please do not select
Delete eSIM
for your old service provider before porting is completed. If the eSIM of your old service provider is erased, you will not be able to receive the Security Validation text message. Therefore, your phone number will not be ported to TELUS.
Here’s how you can make sure the old service provider’s eSIM is still active for you to be able to receive the security verification text message:
When porting in to TELUS, from your Android phone, please go to
Settings> Network & internet > SIM
Please make sure the eSIM of your old service provider is “
Active
”. This way you can receive the security verification text message from your old service provider

Important
: Please do not click on
Erase SIM
under your “Old Service Provider” before porting is completed.
If the eSIM of your old service provider is erased, you will not be able to receive the Security Validation text message. Therefore, your phone number will not be ported to TELUS.
