Change your Wi-Fi network’s name and password – Arris NVG443B

Configure a customized and secured Wi-Fi network on the Arris NVG443B.

Your Arris NVG443B HSIA modem includes a preconfigured Wi-Fi network. The Wi-Fi name, i.e. service set identifier (SSID), and password of your Wi-Fi network are printed on a label found on the side of your wireless modem.

Steps to change your Wi-Fi network's name and password

To configure a customized and secured Wi-Fi network, you have the following options:

  • Connect your modem over your preconfigured Wi-Fi network.

  • Connect your computer directly to the modem using an Ethernet cable.

If you would like to change the default network name and password, follow these steps:

  • Launch your web browser and enter the address,
    http://192.168.1.254/
    , in the address bar.

  • On the modem’s login page, enter the administrator’s username and password (this information is found on your modem).

  • On the next screen, select
    Wi-Fi
. You will be redirected to the
    Wi-Fi Home
    screen.

  • Change the SSID Name: Enter a customized network name or the network name of the old equipment you’ve just replaced.
    Note
: Using your existing network name will save you the work of reconfiguring all of your wireless devices for the new network.

  • Click
    Save
    .

It should take around 30 seconds to apply the new settings. If you're using the credentials (same network name and password) from your old HSIA modem, your devices should automatically recognize them and connect to the network. If you're using new credentials, you will have to connect your devices to the new customized network.
