Important new features and updates for TELUS Business Connect 24.4 release
The latest core release for TELUS Business Connect® 24.4 will be implemented on December 11, 2024, including updates for the desktop and mobile apps.
Here is a summary of the new features available, which edition they impact and the updates that are part of the release.
Unified Desktop App
To simplify administration and improve the user experience, the following updates will be implemented on December 11, 2024 and will be available for the Enhanced, Complete and Complete Plus editions.
You can mute SMS conversation threads (similar to the muting function currently offered in Messaging).
You can favourite SMS conversation threads (similar to the favourite function currently offered in Messaging).
You can rename group MMS conversations.
Voicemail settings can now be accessed in the same place where you access your voicemails, as well as in the
Settings
section of Voice Manager.
We’ve added a quick entry point to create a new contact or add a number to an existing contact when a number in dial-pad doesn’t match any of your current contacts.
You can bulk download faxes while in the bulk-editing view. You no longer have to download faxes one by one.
You can easily record and send audio and video messages to your contacts.
Note
: This feature is not yet supported by Safari or Firefox for the Web app.

The following updates will be implemented on December 11, 2024 to provide a more user-friendly experience. They will be available for all editions, except Voice.

Admin and Core/Voice Manager
The following updates are available for all editions.
You can now assign caller ID (CNAM) to specific phone numbers (postponed from 24.3 release).
Customer admins can now set caller ID for all phones or features at the same time.
Administrators can enforce multi-factor authentication (MFA) for specific roles. This security measure requires users to complete a second authentication step using a time-based one-time password (TOTP) generated by authenticator apps, such as Google Authenticator.
You can restrict email domain for notifications and other emails.
You can restrict apps and the Voice Manager based on the user’s country or IP address.
Admins can restrict which site numbers users can set as their caller ID when making outbound calls.
You can configure automatic and on-demand recording settings to be configured differently per site location.
You can set custom rules for sites and call queues using templates. This will allow your company to easily change how calls are handled during company holidays, special events or unexpected conditions.
Admins can configure which agents have the ability to turn the
Accept Queue Calls
toggle on/off.
Integrations
The following update is available for Voice Plus, Enhanced, Complete and Complete Plus editions.
For the Salesforce.com (SDFC) integration, conference hosts can now leave conference calls without disconnecting the call.
