How to make your application stand out
How to make your application stand out
- “Be sure to explain your story and where you’re coming from. Everyone who’s a business owner deals with struggles day in, day out. I think expressing that, and being true to yourself is going to be what will make you stand out.”Zechariah Thomas
Owner, Swift Hockey - “My advice to anyone applying to #StandWithOwners is just to do it – often we’re so in our heads doubting ourselves. Just put your application in and give it a try. Be sure to focus on showcasing your unique impact on the community and be authentic and passionate about how your business is making a difference.”Karen Danudjaja
Owner, Blume - “If you’re thinking about applying, don’t think twice - just do it. Be yourself, be authentic and tell your story. Don’t feel you need to come up with all the ideas on your own. Gather your team and ask them for their input – there’s a good chance they’ll look at things in a different way that could be really helpful.”Zack Eberwein
Owner, Stoko - “My advice for those applying to #StandWIthOwners this year is to take your time. It's worth it. Don’t skip on the details and really ensure that your passion for your business shines through on your application.”Jill Sheridan
Co-owner, Legends Haul - “You’ve got something unique and differentiated about your story, about your business that maybe only you have experienced, or that’s a part of your journey. Focus on that, and see how that can apply to the application. It’s something that when we looked at our application, we didn’t really think that some things were unique or creative, but it's because we’re so close to it. Focus on that differentiated aspect, and that will help set you apart.”Tanveer Randhawa
Co-owner, ZoRaw Chocolates - “If you’re thinking about applying, first and foremost, be yourself. Make sure your identity is reflected not just in your business but in your application process. Also, in this world of AI, it’s tempting to use them to apply, but be wary of it. My advice to you would be to put a human touch to your artificial approach to your application process. And at the end of the day, have fun with it!”Thierry Lindor
