This year marked our 18th annual
TELUS Days of Giving
where we roll up our sleeves to make a positive impact in our communities around the world. More than 80,000 global team members volunteered in hundreds of communities across the globe, collectively giving back 1.5 million hours of volunteer time.
Most recently, we completed our first TELUS Days of Giving event in Amsterdam. More than 150 employees participated in a canal cleanup with
Plastic Whale
, a non-profit working towards a plastic-free land & sea, worldwide. With more than half a million plastic items reaching the oceans every year from the urban waterways network, and 60,000 kg of plastic being retrieved from Amsterdam’s canals every year, the cleanup with Plastic Whale helps to keep Amsterdam’s waterways clear of waste. Even better? The plastic waste retrieved is recycled and used  as raw material to build boats and office furniture.

TELUS Days of Giving exemplifies how our collective acts of giving – be it time, dollars, or skills ‒ all count to help build stronger communities, globally. As an organization that is growing rapidly in Europe and beyond, TELUS is committed to extending its long legacy of giving to all countries in which it operates.
In the past two years alone, 2,500 European-based TELUS team members have participated in local charitable events in their home communities in 18 countries, from Romania, Bulgaria and Spain, to Germany, Holland and the UK. Charitable acts include cleaning local shorelines, rivers and parks, donating blood, planting trees and volunteering at neighborhood food banks.
Collectively, TELUS team members and retirees have contributed more than $1.5 billion in cash and in-kind contributions, and volunteered two million days of service over the last 20 plus years.
