Spruce Grove PureFibre build marks completion

Spruce Grove is already one of Alberta’s fastest-growing communities. Now, the future is looking even brighter following an investment of over $54 million to directly connect more than 90% of homes and businesses within the city boundary to the world-leading TELUS PureFibre® network.

This collaborative effort involved the City of Spruce Grove contributing $4.25 million to the project, specifically directed towards expanding connectivity throughout the commercial and industrial areas. TELUS invested an additional $50 million.

Recognizing the significance of robust infrastructure in attracting businesses, Spruce Grove council enthusiastically entered into partnership with TELUS.

The city was one of the first municipal governments to have allocated funding of this size to prioritize connectivity and digital upgrades, paving the way for increased conversations across the province. 

"High-speed internet is an essential catalyst for our community's growth. Partnering with TELUS, who demonstrated their commitment by investing $50 million in our community, has truly been a game-changing endeavor,” said Mayor Jeff Acker.

This joint endeavor between TELUS and the City of Spruce Grove is poised to facilitate economic development and unlock new opportunities in today’s digital world.
