Set up TELUS email on your computer using Windows Live Mail

Access your email account through Windows Live Mail 2012

Before you begin, ensure you have Windows Essentials 2012 on your computer. To learn more, visit the Microsoft Web site.

  1. Launch Windows Live Mail
  2. From the top taskbar, select Accounts
  3. Select Email. The Add your email accounts window appears
  4. Complete the required information as follows:
    • Email address: Your email address. For example,

    • Password: Your email password
      Note: If you’ve forgotten your email password, call us at 1-888-811-2323. Our agents will help you reset your password

    • Check Remember this password

    • Display name for your sent messages: The name you would like recipients to receive

    • Check Manually configure server settings

  5. When you're finished, select Next. The configure server settings screen is displayed
  6. Complete the required information as follows:
    • Incoming server information:
      • Server type: Select IMAP
      • Server address:
      • Port: 993
      • Verify Requires a secure connection (SSL) is checked
      • Authenticate using: Clear text
      • Logon user name: Your email username
    • Outgoing server information:
      • Server address:
      • Port: 465
      • Verify the Requires a secure connection (SSL) box is not checked
  7. When you're finished, select Next
  8. Select Finish

Your email account is set up for use with Windows Live Mail.

You can create your own email address from your online account.

Note: Unfortunately, email service is currently not available for customers on PureFibre internet plans.
