Set up TELUS email on your computer using Outlook 2007

Access your email account through Outlook 2007

Not your email client?

  1. From your desktop, select Start
  2. From Start menu, select Microsoft Outlook Express
  3. From the top taskbar , select Tools
  4. Select Account Settings
  5. From the E-mail tab, select New
  6. Select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP
  7. Select Next. The Auto Account Setup is displayed
  8. Check the Manually configure server settings or additional server types check box
  9. Select Next
  10. Select Internet E-mail
  11. Select Next. The Internet E-mail Settings screen is displayed
  12. Type the following information:
    • Your Name: The name that will be displayed to recipients of your sent email
    • E-mail Address: Your email address
    • Account Type: Select IMAP
    • Incoming mail server:
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP):
    • User Name: Your email account username
    • Password: Your email account password
  13. Select the Remember password check box
  14. Select More Settings
  15. Under the Outgoing server tab, make sure the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox is checked
  16. Under the Advanced tab verify that This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) is checked and that the drop down menu Use the following type of encrypted connection is SSL
  17. Incoming server should be set to port 993
  18. Outgoing server should be set to port 465
  19. Select OK
  20. Select Next
  21. Select Finish

Your email account is set up for use with Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.
