Configure a customized and secured Wi-Fi network on the Actiontec V1000H or V2000H
Your Actiontec
V1000H or V2000H
wireless gateway includes a preconfigured Wi-Fi network. The name (SSID) and password of your Wi-Fi network are printed on a label affixed to the side of your wireless gateway.
To configure a customized and secured Wi-Fi network, and connect to the Internet wirelessly, follow these steps using a wired Internet connection:
Open your Web browser
Enter the following in the address bar:

Press the

screen
To launch a session, enter the following information:
Username:
admin
Password:
The default password is the serial number of the gateway, printed on the side of the gateway
(unless you have changed it)
Select
Login
to display the
Welcome
screen
Select
No
, then
Apply
to display the
Home
screen
On the next screen, select
Wireless Setup
to displau the
Basic Settings
screen
Complete the following fields:
Wireless Radio: Select
Enable
SSID Broadcast: Select
Enable
SSID Name: The name you and others will see when searching for your wireless network
Security: For enhanced security,
WPA/WPA2
is recommended
WPA Type: Select
WPA or WPA2 – Personal
Encryption: Select
All
Security Key Type: Select
Use Custom Passphrase
, clear the corresponding text box, then enter your desired password (between 8 and 63 characters)
Note:
Your password must consist of letters, numbers or a combination of both.
Select
Apply

Reconnect your devices to your new customized network
