AlarmForce equipment

Change the batteries in your AlarmForce equipment.

Legacy panel

Before you start, you will need:

  • A new 12V lead acid battery (purchased online or through a local retailer).

To replace the battery for your TELUS Secure Business AlarmForce legacy panel, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Put your security system on "test" by
    contacting us
     (
    Phone
    -> Click on the
    "Call Support"
    drop-down -> dial the phone number under
    "Secure Business"
    ).

  2. Turn off and disconnect the power for the panel.

  3. Remove the panel lid to the battery.

  4. Remove the used lead-acid battery by detaching the white clip. Connect the new lead-acid battery using the same white clip.

  5. Insert a new 12V Lead Acid battery into the panel. Put the excess wires to the side of the battery into the panel. Put the excess wires to the side of the battery.

  6. Re-attach the panel lid.

  7. Turn the panel back on.

  8. Test whether the replacement is successful by arming and disarming the panel. If the panel no longer says "low system battery," the replacement is successful.

  9. Please dispose of the used lead-acid battery by contacting your local battery recycling programs.

Wireless carbon monoxide alarm 80 AF

Before you start, you will need:

  • A new CR123 battery (purchased online or through a local retailer).

To replace the batteries for your wireless carbon monoxide alarm 80 AF, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Put your security system on "test" by
    contacting us
     (
    Phone
    -> Click on the
    "Call Support"
    drop-down -> dial the phone number under
    "Secure Business"
    ).

  2. Remove the CO detector from mounting plate by twisting it counter clockwise to unlock.

  3. Open the cover.

  4. Insert a new CR123 battery into the device.

  5. Close the cover.

  6. Twist the CO detector clockwise to lock onto the mounting plate.

  7. Do not press the test button as this may cause a false alarm which could result in fees for you. Instead, check on your panel or app to see if the low battery alert has cleared.

  8. Please dispose of the used battery by contacting your local battery recycling programs.

Door/window sensor 31AF

Before you start, you will need:

  • Two new CR2032 or CR2450 batteries (see below to determine which batteries are required. They can be purchased online or through a local retailer).

  • Small flat-head screwdriver.

To replace the batteries for your TELUS Secure Business AlarmForce door/window sensor 31AF, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Remove your sensor and remove the case by twisting a small flat blade screwdriver in the top case slot (on the flat end of the sensor).

  2. Remove the battery retaining screw.

  3. Remove the battery clamp and original batteries from the device.

  4. Replace with two new lithium batteries with the “+” side up.

    • Replace the battery clamp and retaining screw.

    • Replace the case back onto the sensor.

    • Please dispose of the used batteries by contacting your local battery recycling programs.

    Door/window sensor 36AF

    Before you start, you will need:

    • A new CR2450 lithium battery (purchased online or through a local retailer).

    • Small flat-head screwdriver.

    To replace the battery for your TELUS Secure Business AlarmForce door/window 36AF, please follow the instructions below:

    1. Remove your sensor and use a small flat blade screwdriver or coin in the slot on either end of the transmitter.

    2. Slide the original battery out of the device.

    3. Replace with a new CR2450 lithium battery.

    4. Close the lid back onto the sensor.

    5. Please dispose of the used battery by contacting your local battery recycling programs.

    Glass break detector 91AF

    Before you start, you will need:

    • Two new CR2450 lithium batteries (purchased online or through a local retailer).

    To replace the batteries for your Key fob MKA-315, please follow the instructions below:

    1. Open your glass break detector sensor case.

    2. Remove the battery clip screw and move clip to the side to access the batteries.

    3. Install two CR2450 lithium batteries with the “+” side up.

    4. Put back the battery clip screw and movie clip to their original location.

    5. Close the sensor case.

    6. Please dispose of the used battery by contacting your local battery recycling programs.

    Key fob MKA-315

    Before you start, you will need:

    • A new CR12032 battery (purchased online or through a local retailer).

    • Small Phillips screwdriver.

    To replace the battery for your key fob MKA-315, please follow the instructions below:

    1. Use a small Phillips screwdriver to open the back cover of the key fob.

    2. Slide out the CR2032 battery and replace with a fresh battery.

    3. Secure the back cover by using the two Phillips screws.

    4. Please dispose of the used battery by contacting your local battery recycling programs.

    Key fob RC7

    Before you start, you will need:

    • A new CR2032 battery (purchased online or through a local retailer).

    • A coin or flat-head screwdriver.

    To replace the battery for your key fob RC7, please follow the instructions below:

    1. Remove the battery cover of the key fob by using a coin to turn counter-clockwise.

    2. Insert a new CR2032 battery into the key fob with the unmarked side (negative) of the battery facing down.

    3. Replace the battery cover by securing the cover using a coin to turn clockwise.

    4. Please dispose of the used battery by contacting your local battery recycling programs.

    Wireless motion detector 54AF

    Before you start, you will need:

    • A new 9V battery (purchased online or through a local retailer).

    • Phillips screwdriver.

    To replace the batteries for your TELUS Secure Business AlarmForce wireless motion detector 54AF, please follow the instructions below:

    1. Remove the screw at the bottom of the device (if any) and open the case.

    2. Replace the original battery in the device by connecting a 9V battery to the battery clip (“+” side up).

    3. Replace the case screw after closing the case.

    4. Please dispose of the used battery by contacting your local battery recycling programs.

    Wireless motion detector 55AF

    Before you start, you will need:

    • A new CR123A battery (purchased online or through a local retailer).

    To replace the batteries for your Wireless motion detector 55AF, please follow the instructions below:

    1. Squeeze the top and bottom of the case to open the motion detector.

    2. Replace the CR123A battery in the device. Make sure to take note of the battery polarity.

    3. Return the sensor to its bracket and snap the case close.

    4. Please dispose of the used battery by contacting your local battery recycling programs.

    Remote keypad KP7

    Before you start, you will need:

    • Three new AAA batteries (purchased online or through a local retailer).

    • A Phillips screwdriver.

    To replace the batteries for your TELUS Secure Business AlarmForce remote keypad KP7, please follow the instructions below:

    1. Remove the cover by loosening the screw at the bottom of the device.

    2. Replace the three AAA batteries within the keypad.

    3. Replace the cover and tighten the screws.

    4. Please dispose of the used batteries by contacting your local battery recycling programs.

    Wireless smoke alarm 72AF

    Before you start, you will need:

    • Two new 9V batteries (purchased online or through a local retailer).

    To replace the batteries for your wireless smoke alarm 72AF, please follow the instructions below:

    1. Put your security system on "test" by
      contacting us

      -> Click on the
      "Call Support"
      drop-down -> dial the phone number under

      ).

    2. Remove the smoke alarm from mounting plate by twisting it counter clockwise to unlock.

    3. Open the cover.

    4. Insert the two 9V batteries into the device.

    5. Close the cover.

    6. Match up the alignment tabs and twist the smoke detector clockwise to lock onto the mounting plate.

    7. Do not press the test button as this may cause a false alarm which could result in fees for you. Instead, check on your panel or app to see if the low battery alert has cleared.

    8. Please dispose of the used batteries by contacting your local battery recycling programs.

    Wireless smoke alarm 73AF

    Before you start, you will need:

    • A new CR123 battery (purchased online or through a local retailer).

    To replace the battery for your wireless smoke alarm 73AF, please follow the instructions below:

    1. Put your security system on "test" by

      drop-down -> dial the phone number under

    2. Remove the smoke alarm from mounting plate by twisting it counter clockwise to unlock.

    3. Open the cover.

    4. Insert the CR123 battery into the device.

    5. Close the cover.

    6. Twist the smoke detector clockwise to lock onto the mounting plate.

    7. Do not press the test button as this may cause a false alarm which could result in fees for you. Instead, check on your panel or app to see if the low battery alert has cleared.

    8. Please dispose of the used battery by contacting your local battery recycling programs.

    Wireless keypad 10AF

    Before you start, you will need:

    • A new 9V battery (purchased online or through a local retailer).

    • A small flat-head screwdriver.

    To replace the battery for your TELUS Secure Business AlarmForce wireless keypad 10AF, please follow the instructions below:

    1. Remove the top of the case by twisting a small screwdriver between the case halves until it pops open.

    2. Remove the original battery from the battery clip.

    3. Replace and connect the new 9V battery to the battery clip.

    4. Close the case back.

    5. Please dispose of the used battery by contacting your local battery recycling programs.
