Tailored marketing offers: How TELUS and WestJet use your data responsibly

We are pleased to announce a partnership with WestJet that gives you the option to connect your TELUS Rewards account with your WestJet Rewards account. By linking your accounts, you will gain access to tailored marketing offers from TELUS and WestJet that are more relevant to your interests.

Tailored marketing offers based on your linkage with TELUS and WestJet

Tailored marketing means TELUS and WestJet will be able to customize advertising based on your Rewards account information and on product or service usage patterns across both Rewards programs. This helps each company better understand your preferences and target offers that are more meaningful to you.
For example:
  • If you purchase a US to Mexico Roaming Pass from TELUS, WestJet may send you marketing offers or promotions related to flights to the US or Mexico.
  • If you book a flight with WestJet, TELUS may send you marketing offers about products and/or services to help secure your home while you are away.

Information used to deliver tailored marketing offers

To support tailored marketing, TELUS and WestJet will collect and exchange different types of your personal information, such as:
  • Rewards account information such as your account ID, name, phone number, email address, postal code, years in the program, and tier status in both TELUS Rewards and WestJet Rewards programs.


  • Points redemption activity, including whether you redeemed your TELUS Rewards points or WestJet Rewards points in the past 90, 180, or 270 days.


  • Purchases from TELUS, including PureFibre Internet, Mobility, SmartHome Security, or Optik TV services, and whether you purchased a TELUS Roaming Pass in the past 90, 180, or 270 days.


  • Purchases from WestJet, including your WestJet fare type preferences and likelihood to purchase options like baggage or cabin upgrades.

How to opt-out?

Your participation in tailored marketing is optional and is completely up to you. If you no longer wish to receive tailored marketing offers, you can opt-out altogether at any time by visiting your TELUS Rewards account and tapping “Unlink account”. Participation is not required to access TELUS services.
