Tobias Dengel

President of TELUS Digital

As President of TELUS Digital, Tobias’ mission is to bring world-class digital talent to the company’s clients to help them create digital products that not only transform their business but also fully engage their users.
Tobias joined the TELUS Digital team in January 2023 when WillowTree was acquired by TELUS Digital. It has been an amazing journey to build WillowTree from a few people passionate about the emerging Apple store ecosystem in 2009 to a globally distributed team of more than 1,100 craftspeople. As TELUS Digital, the team unifies the often disparate disciplines of strategy, design and engineering to partner with clients to meet their most ambitious digital transformation goals.
Tobias’ history in digital media began over 20 years ago when he started working at AOL in 1996. While there, he held a variety of leadership roles including General Manager of AOL Local and VP of AOL International, based in London. Tobias left AOL in 2003 to co-found Leads.com, a pioneering search agency that was acquired by Web.com in 2005. In 2009, he left to co-found WillowTree.
Tobias lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, with his wife Lynn and four kids. He holds a BSE in Finance (Wharton) and a BSE in Systems Engineering, both from the University of Pennsylvania. Tobias also serves as the Chair of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation Board, which manages Monticello in Charlottesville.
