“As an Indigenous team member of Métis heritage, I feel grateful that I work at an organization that makes space for the important discussion around discrimination. I'm also proud to help lead TELUS' commitment to reconciliation with our Indigenous communities and support building a culture of diversity and inclusion.”

“I've had the privilege of being a TELUS team member since 2015 during which I've consistently felt safe as a transgender individual. More importantly, TELUS has provided me a space to be a LGBTQ2+ community advocate with active support from my peers and leaders. The vocal support from our collective leadership fills me with pride and comfort knowing that TELUS is a place where both myself and members of my community can thrive.”

Our commitment to accessibility

Accessibility is a must-have, not a nice-to-have. We are passionate about creating technology that improves accessibility for customers and team members — it’s an integral part of how TELUS develops our solutions and workplace.

Paying it forward

Diversity drives innovation and that’s why we provide future leaders with career opportunities and financial support. We believe in empowering the next generation through initiatives like our Diversity in Technology Scholarship, which supports women and minorities in their final year of studies in a technology-related program at a Canadian post-secondary institution.
“I'm incredibly grateful to have been selected as a recipient of the TELUS Diversity in Technology Scholarship. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the entire TELUS team for this recognition! This scholarship represents a shared commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity in STEM. As I enter my final year at the University of Toronto, this scholarship will play a pivotal role in supporting my education and furthering my professional development. It will also support me to continue working on co-creating evidence-based toolkits to enhance patient care for black men with prostate cancer at Women's College Hospital.  With this, I look forward to pursuing a career in global health research and sustainable tech development to amplify access to healthcare. Thank you once again, TELUS, for your generous support, which will undoubtedly make an impact on my personal and professional journey!”

Leading by example

To be a leader in diversity and inclusion means ensuring that our amazing team reflects the diversity of our customers and communities at every level of the organization. Our inclusive environment makes the most of our team members’ experiences, encouraging diversity of thought — the spark of innovation.
“As a biracial person of Japanese and Irish heritage, I have experienced the richness and beauty of multiple cultures. As a parent of a neurodiverse child, I have learned the importance of embracing every person's unique talents and abilities. I bring these perspectives to my role as Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, and believe that celebrating our team members' diverse and intersecting identities will foster a culture where everyone feels connected and supported.”
