Troubleshooting Outbound Calling Name Display issues

Learn how Outbound Calling Name Display works and troubleshoot common issues

Want your name to appear when you call someone? The Outbound Calling Name Display feature allows your account name to be displayed, along with your phone number when you make an outgoing call. This can be helpful for friends, family or contacts to recognize your call.

Here's how it works:

  • Name displayed
: If you add the Outbound Calling Name Display feature, the primary billing name registered on your account will be shown to people you call, provided their devices and network support name display. This applies to all outgoing calls from any line on your account.

  • Customization of display name
: For this feature, your displayed name is taken directly from your account information and cannot be customized or changed to an alternative name.

  • VoLTE requirement
: For Outbound Calling Name Display to function, your device must be VoLTE (Voice over LTE) compatible and VoLTE must be enabled on your device. You can check your device's VoLTE compatibility and learn more by visiting
