Tips to identify and avoid spam emails
Be suspicious of
emails received from people or organizations you don’t know
. If you have not interacted with them, it is unlikely anything they send to you will be legitimate
Don’t always trust emails with an included URL, especially if there are
link shorteners imbedded
which make it hard to tell where a link will really take you
Be suspicious of
unopened attachments
included in messages from business organizations
Never give information which is being requested
by email, such as login credentials. If you’d like to follow-up for more information, go to the company’s website to contact them directly
Verify the email domain
to ensure that it matches the company that the email claims to be sent from

How to mark emails as spam/not spam

spam

not spam
in your mailbox. This will help improve email filtering going forward to ensure only valid messages are being sent to you inbox:
Mark emails as spam
Log in to your
TELUS email account
Select the desired message in your mailbox
Select the
three vertical dots icon
to open the
More
menu
Select
Report spam
to open a pop-up window
Select
Report spam
to mark the message as spam OR select
Report spam & unsubscribe
to mark as spam and stop future messages from this sender
Mark emails as not spam
Log in to your
TELUS email account
Select the
three horizontal lines icon
to open the
main menu
Select
More
to view additional folders
Select the
Spam
folder
Right-click the desired message in your mailbox, then select
Not spam
