Dr. Kaitlyn Wesley is an animal scientist specializing in carcass data interpretation, production projections, growth promotants, and economic modelling. She earned her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Animal Science - Business from Texas Tech University in 2018, followed by a Master of Science (M.S.) in Agriculture - Meat Science from West Texas A&M University in 2020. In 2023, she further advanced her expertise by obtaining a Ph.D. in Animal Science - Meat Science and Muscle Biology from Texas Tech University.
In June 2023, Dr. Wesley joined TELUS Agriculture, formerly Feedlot Health Management Services (FHMS), as a Feedlot Production Consultant. Her role involves optimizing the use of growth promotants to enhance beef cattle growth, while analyzing production parameters to accurately forecast optimal marketing endpoints. Additionally, she interprets carcass data to refine strategies for future cattle populations to improve efficiency, meat quality, and overall profitability.
Throughout her career, Dr. Wesley has made valuable contributions to the field of animal science, particularly in the areas of carcass data interpretation and growth promotants. Her expertise in production projections and the use of growth promotants has been instrumental in advancing industry practices and improving the overall health and productivity of livestock. Dr. Wesley continues to be a dedicated asset to TELUS Agriculture and the broader animal science community.
