Eric is an accomplished venture capitalist who has built a successful career investing in companies at all stages of maturity and in diverse industries, including consumer fintech, mobility, marketplace, enterprise SaaS, telecommunications and semiconductor sectors.

Leveraging his connections to TELUS Ventures’ directors and TELUS business units, Eric uses his experience in the Silicon Valley investment community to build relationships between TELUS Ventures, investment firms and innovators looking to expand their businesses into Canadian markets. Eric was previously the Managing Director for DTCP, where he led sourcing, negotiations and management of enterprise SaaS venture investments.

An entrepreneur himself, Eric has a deep appreciation for and understanding of the dedication, skills and mindset necessary to get a great company up and running. He previously founded two venture-backed companies, raising five rounds of funding from Kleiner Perkins, Mayfield, JMI Equity, VantagePoint and others.

Eric holds an MBA with a focus on high tech entrepreneurship and a PhD in electrical engineering from Stanford University. He is a mentor for StartX, a community of innovators and educators at the university.

In his downtime, Eric spends time relaxing with his three kids and training for the 24-hour World Time Trial Championships cycle in California.
