What is an immigration medical exam and who needs one?
If you are applying for Canadian residence or refugee status, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) requires that you have a medical exam completed by an approved panel physician within 30 days of being notified by the government.
You will need to complete an immigration medical exam if you are applying for any of the following:
Canadian permanent residence
Work permits
Visitor and student visas
Refugee status
