Alan King

Alan King is a globally respected voice in employee health, psychological safety and inclusive leadership, with more than 35 years at the intersection of workplace wellbeing, holistic health and work-life integration.
As Senior Vice-president, Employer Solutions, Alan is responsible for a team of more than 2,600 global team members who drive market leadership and revenue growth for TELUS Health's physical and mental wellbeing solutions focused on the global employer segment. His business portfolio includes global responsibility for TELUS Health’s Employee and Family Assistance program (EFAP), Absence and Disability Management, Wellbeing, Student Support and Training Solutions. Alan leads with a people-first purpose and an unwavering commitment to creating workplaces where both individuals and organizations can thrive.
Prior to his role at TELUS Health, Alan was named President and CEO of Workplace Options (WPO) in 2019. During this critical time of the pandemic, Alan led with a clear vision for what the future of global wellbeing could be. Over the next several years, he guided WPO through a period of remarkable transformation: expanding into new markets, strengthening international reach and relevance, and blending digital innovation with the human-to-human care that defines the organization. In May 2025, that vision culminated in WPO’s acquisition by TELUS Health, a milestone that reflects the company’s growth, relevance and impact under his leadership. 
Earlier in his career, Alan served for 17 years as WPO’s President and Managing Director, shaping the company’s international service delivery model and redefining industry standards. Alan held senior leadership roles at Ceridian LifeWorks EAP, overseeing global provider relations, quality control, and customer service, and at Work Family Directions, a pioneering work-life consulting firm.
Alan’s commitment to wellbeing and inclusion extends far beyond the workplace. As President of the Board of Trustees for the Tyler Clementi Foundation, he works to end bullying and foster safe, inclusive environments for all.
A recognized thought leader, Alan continues to influence the future of work by championing psychological safety, empathetic leadership, and scalable wellbeing solutions to help organizations meet the needs of an increasingly diverse and evolving global workforce. In 2025, Alan earned the Triangle Business Journal Corporate Leadership Award, a recognition that reflects both his transformational leadership at his workplace and his industry-wide influence in advancing the future of employee health and wellbeing.
