Understanding the Device Buttons and Features

Explore an interactive view of the front of your device. Learn about various icons, buttons, and features and where they're located.

  • Audio/Headphone Jack: Used to plug in your headset or headphones.

    The indicator is in the top left.
  • Back Button: Used to go back one screen.

    The indicator is in the bottom left.
  • Convenience Button: Used to quickly access your favorite shortcuts on your device.

    The indicator is towards the right.
  • Earpiece Speaker: Listen to audio or phone calls from here.

    The indicator is towards the top.
  • Fingerprint Sensor: Used for unlocking the device with your fingerprint.

    The indicator is towards the bottom.
  • Front Camera: Used for taking pictures and recording videos.

    The indicator is towards the top.
  • Home Button: Takes you to the last Home screen you were on. If you're on a Home screen, it will take you to the main Home screen. Touch and hold for Google Assistant.

  • Microphone: Built-in microphone used for phone calls and voice commands.

    The indicator is in the top left.
  • Nano SIM / microSD Card Slot: Insert or remove your nano SIM / microSD card here.

    The indicator is in the top left.
  • Physical Keyboard: Used to enter text and launch shortcuts on your device.

    The indicator is towards the bottom.
  • Power/Lock Button: Press to lock or unlock the touchscreen. Hold down to turn the device on or off.

    The indicator is towards the right.
  • Recent Apps Button: Shows the apps you've recently opened, letting you switch between and close apps that are running. Touch and hold to enter split screen mode.

    The indicator is in the bottom right.
  • Speaker: Used to play sounds on your device.

    The indicator is in the bottom left.
  • Touchscreen: Used to navigate your device.

    The indicator is in the center.
  • USB/Charging Port: Connects your phone to the battery charger or to another device for transferring data.

    The indicator is towards the bottom.
  • Volume Buttons: Adjusts the volume on your device.

    The indicator is in the top right.
