Counselling can be a valuable resource for life’s daily struggles and long-term challenges. Counsellors can provide a safe and confidential space for emotional support, learning coping strategies, and emotional healing. The first session usually focuses on building the counselling relationship, identifying the issue(s), building trust, and setting the framework for moving forward. A Counsellor can help you explore your background and what contributed to the way you are feeling.
The Counsellor will help to identify priorities and the changes you would like to see in your life. The session will typically wrap up with resources, tools, or homework to help you get started.
You are in the driver’s seat and the Counsellor you choose is your copilot. You tell them where you want to go and they will read the map to explore the different directions to get there.
