Building on nearly a decade of experience in technology-focused investment banking and technology startups investing, Chris is involved in all aspects of TELUS Ventures’ investment activities – from deal origination and investment execution through to post-investment monitoring, reporting and value creation. He is focused on investments in IoT, Connected Consumer and innovative future-forward foundational technologies and is passionate about digging deep into the business models and operations of companies to help them identify their key growth levers for success. Chris is also responsible for post-investment reporting – having developed a custom system and processes in his early days at TELUS Ventures – and working closely with portfolio companies to improve their performance.
From his previous work, Chris has developed a special interest in understanding the different business models seen across the tech industry and a thorough understanding of the key metrics and indicators that point to a company’s potential. Before joining TELUS Ventures in 2018, Chris provided M&A and capital raising transaction advice to global technology companies at Cardin Partners and prior to that, advised Canadian technology companies at Garibaldi Capital Advisors. He also has experience at a PE/VC firm investing in and acquiring high-growth technology businesses, as well as operational experience within a FinTech portfolio company.
Vancouver-born and now living in Toronto, Chris spends his free time exploring all that the diverse and multicultural city has to offer, but remains loyal to his hometown as a devoted Vancouver Canucks and Whitecaps fan.
Chris serves as an observer on the LP Advisory Committee for Panache Ventures. He holds a BCom from the Sauder School of Business and is a CFA Charterholder.
