Step-by-step instructions to schedule your upgrade.
TELUS is migrating all customers to upgraded email service. We’re partnering with Google to make your email more reliable, secure and powerful. To continue accessing your email, you will need to schedule your upgrade to the new platform.
Why schedule your upgrade?
By mid-2021 your current email service will no longer be active. To provide every TELUS customer with the support they need, we are asking customers to self-select a migration date.
How to schedule your upgrade
If you have received an email invitation from us, follow these steps to schedule your upgrade.
- Log in to TELUS Webmail by visiting webmail.telus.net. This will ensure that you are securely logged in to select your upgrade preferences.
- If you’re not a TELUS Webmail user: This is simply the online portal to your email inbox. You will log in using your TELUS email address and password
- If you do not remember your password: Please visit telus.com/reset for instructions on how to reset it, and then come back to TELUS Webmail
- A screen will appear letting you know your TELUS email is about to get a whole lot better. Select the Schedule now button at the bottom of the page
- If you select Remind me later, you will only be able to see this screen again by logging out of your email and logging back in. This option will disappear after the number of days indicated on the screen
- Enter your migration details. On this screen, you will be asked for:
- Your login email address: If you have multiple aliases created within your account, you will see them all listed here. Choose the one you would like to use as your login going forward
Note: You are not losing any of your email addresses. You are simply selecting one to be used as your login username for all aliases moving forward. - Your display name: Please enter your first and last name. Once your account is migrated, you will be able to change this information using My TELUS
- Your migration date: Please choose among the date options presented.
- Your contact information: On the day of your migration, we will send you a notification to the mobile number or alternative email address you enter here. This notification will let you know that your migration has been completed and that you now need to activate your account. Without this piece of information, we would have no way to communicate with you on the day of your migration, as you will need to complete the “activation” step in order to continue sending and receiving emails. - Your login email address: If you have multiple aliases created within your account, you will see them all listed here. Choose the one you would like to use as your login going forward
- Verify your contact information. Selecting Next will take you to a screen where you will have to enter a 6-digit verification code, which will be sent to the mobile phone or the email address you provided in the previous step. This code is needed in order to validate that you have access to such phone or email address
- Review and confirm. On this screen, you will see a summary of all the information you have provided. Select Confirm if all the information is correct, or else select Edit my migration details if you need to make changes, and then come back to this screen
- Thank you. You have successfully scheduled your migration. This last screen can be printed for you to keep it in your records
- Select Take me to Webmail and you will land on your email inbox. Look for an email from us, which will confirm that you have scheduled your migration, and will give you tips for the next two steps for you to complete: activate and set up
If you do not schedule your upgrade
Scheduling your upgrade allows you to choose a date that works best for your schedule. Since there are steps you will need to complete in order to activate your account, it is recommended that you select a date that is most convenient for you to complete the steps required.
For customers invited to self-select an upgrade date starting in March 2021, you will be asked to do so within 21 days of receiving your invitation over email. We will send reminders along the way. If you do not take action, we will select an upgrade date for you and notify you over email.
Note: On the morning of your upgrade date, you will not be able to access your email account without first taking some steps found at telus.com/steps.
