Pik TV app for Apple TV

The Pik TV app is available for download on Apple TV. Now you can watch live TV and access a large On Demand library of TV shows and movies on your Apple TV using your Pik TV subscription.

Requirements & restrictions:

• Subscription to TELUS Internet, Pik TV and live channels is required. Licensing and rights limitations mean that not all programs and channels are available when not connected to your TELUS home internet
• My TELUS username and password are required to log in to this service
• The Pik TV app for Apple TV can only be used in Canada when connected to your TELUS home internet

Supported devices

The Pik TV app is supported on Apple TV HD (4th generation) and Apple TV 4K (5th and 6th generations).

To download and install the Pik TV application on your Apple TV, navigate to the Apple App Store from the Home screen of your Apple TV. Search for Pik TV and follow the download and installation steps.

You can use the Siri remote for Apple TV to control your Pik TV experience.

On Apple TV 4th and 5th generation (black remote), the remote is equipped with a touchpad with a sensor to navigate left and right, and up and down. On Apple TV 6th generation (aluminum remote), the remote is equipped with a direction pad (D-Pad) for left, right, up, down navigation, as well as a touchpad in the middle of the D-Pad.

Both remotes feature a home button, a microphone button to enable Siri dictation, volume up/down buttons and a play/pause button.

The 6th generation remote also includes a power button that will allow you to turn your TV and Apple TV off simultaneously, a mute button and a back button for easier navigation through the Apple TV and Pik TV apps.

Home
From the Home screen, you can see what’s On Now on live TV, Resume your On Demand programming, browse Highlights and Favourites or view your recent Purchases. You can also navigate to Live TV, On Demand, Guide, Settings or Search.

Live TV
All Pik TV customers have access to the live TV content included in their subscription. Some channels are only available when connected to your home TELUS Internet service due to content provider restrictions. Live TV will show you what’s on now by category, including Sports, News, Kids, Entertainment, Lifestyle, Learning, Movies & Multicultural.

During live TV playback, you can press the middle button of the D-Pad or touchpad on your Apple TV remote control to bring up the program information screen and turn on closed captioning (CC) or described video (AD). SWwiping down on the D-Pad or touchpad will bring up a live guide, where you can see what’s on now, what’s coming up and change channels without stopping live playback.

On Demand
All Pik TV customers have access to the On Demand content included in their subscription as well as a selection of On Demand movies available for rental. You can browse by Featured titles, TV Shows, TELUS Presents, Movies, Channels, Kids, and more.

Note: You can pause, rewind or fast forward On Demand TV content, but these features may be disabled on select programming by the content provider. You can pause, rewind or fast forward On Demand movies available for rental.

Guide
In the Guide section, you can see what’s playing today and up to 10 days in the future.

You can also filter your guide by selecting the filter icon in the top left-hand corner of your screen.

• Filtering by channels: All Channels will display all of the channels that are available with Pik TV, My subscribed channels will display all of the channels that you have in your Pik TV subscription and Playable on this device will display all of the channels that you are subscribed to and can watch on this device

Please note that some channels are only available when connected to your TELUS home internet connection.

Settings
Selecting Settings will allow you to Logout from the Pik TV app, see your Account info, learn more about Pik TV in About, and set your Closed Caption and Described Video settings in Audio settings.

Search
You can use the search function to find a movie, TV show or cast member, using the on-screen keyboard or the voice control feature of your Siri remote. If searching for a movie or TV series, your search results will include both live and On Demand viewing options for your title.

If searching for a specific cast member, your search results will provide a list of available live or On Demand titles where that cast member appeared.
