Why I am seeing a “Storage full” error on my TV screen while trying to upgrade my Pik TV app?
I am seeing a “Storage full” error on my TV screen while trying to upgrade my Pik TV app on the Pik TV Media Box. How can I proceed and install the update?
We are in the process of upgrading our software to enhance your TV experience. During the upgrade process, you may encounter certain issues that you can troubleshoot on your own. If you are encountering a ‘Storage full’ or ‘Insufficient Storage’ error messages, please follow these steps:
- From the Android TV home screen, navigate to Settings → Apps and select Apps
- Select Pik TV
- Select Clear data to make space available for the new application
Once complete, please navigate to the Google Play Store from Android TV home screen and attempt to install the Pik TV update again. Home → Apps → Google Play Store → Updates → Pik TV → Install.
If you are still experiencing ‘Storage full’ or ‘Insufficient storage’ error messages after following the steps above, you can try the following:
- From the Android TV home screen, go to Settings → Apps → Pik TV, and select Uninstall updates.
Note: This will not remove your Pik TV app but will revert it back to an older version (V 2.00.030.9 STB).
Once complete, please retry the Pik TV app update from the Google Play Store.

Why am I being asked to enter my Google login when attempting to update the Pik TV app on my Pik TV Media Box?
In order to update your Pik TV app, you will need a Google Play Store account. An email will be required for your Google Play Store account. After you have set up your Google Play Store account, please try the following:
When you press OK on the “An upgrade is required to continue” pop-up, you may encounter the following scenarios:
Scenario 1: You are not previously logged in to the Google Play Store on your Pik TV Media Box.
- Select Sign in once you are redirected to Google-Play sign in page
- You will be redirected to another sign in page with 2 login options:
Use your phone or computer:
You will be redirected to android.tv.com/setup on your computer/phone.
Please enter your Google login credentials on your device. Enter the 6 digit code displayed on your TV screen.
Note: Use the number on your TV screen, not 191704.
You should now be able to install the Pik TV app update from the Google Play Store
Use your remote:
You will be redirected to a screen where you can enter your Google credentials (email or phone) and password using your Pik TV remote control.
Once logged in, you can proceed with the Pik TV update from the Google Play Store
Scenario 2: You are logged in to the Google Play Store on your Pik TV Media Box.
You will be redirected to Google Play Store when you select the upgrade pop-up.
Go to My Apps → Update available → Pik TV, and select Update.
Open the Pik TV App and start watching.
