Information on pairing devices purchased after initial SmartHome system installation

Pairing your new devices purchased after your initial SmartHome system installation

The first step to setup your new device(s) to work with your existing SmartHome system is to pair them to your existing Hub.

Please note that the HD Indoor Camera and the Wi-Fi Outdoor Doorbell Camera do not require pairing to the Hub; they require setup via your home’s Wi-Fi system. Please refer to the Quick Start Guide that came with your device(s) to setup the HD Indoor Camera and the Wi-Fi Outdoor Doorbell Camera.

Pairing your devices with the Hub

Pairing the Motion/Image Sensor

  1. Remove all batteries (2 AA lithium batteries) from the Motion/Image Sensor.
  2. If the Hub and the Motion/Image Sensor are not close (i.e. approximately within 1m / 3ft), then bring the Hub into the suggested range with the Motion/Image Sensor by first unplugging the Hub from the AC adaptor. The Status Light will flash white and orange alternately, indicating it is now powered by the battery.
  3. Put the Hub in Pairing mode by pressing the Pairing button once. The status light will flash green slowly and the Hub will beep once.
  4. Put the Motion/Image Sensor in Pairing mode by inserting the 2 AA lithium batteries into the Motion/Image Sensor.
  5. It may take the Hub between 20 seconds to 2 minutes to pair with the Motion/Image Sensor. When the Motion/Image Sensor begins to communicate with the Hub, the Hub’s status light will flash green quickly. When pairing is successful, the Hub will beep for one second, and the status light will stay green for 120 seconds. The Hub automatically exits Pairing mode, and the status light will flash white and orange (if it is battery powered) or solid white (if it is powered by the AC adaptor).
  6. Plug the Hub back to the AC adaptor if it was unplugged from it.

If the pairing of the Motion/Image Sensor was not successful, that is, you still do not see the Motion/Image Sensor on the homepage of your online account and mobile app, try again. If it is still unsuccessful, then try unpairing the Motion/Image Sensor first by following the instructions below, “Unpairing the Motion/Image Sensor”, and then repeat the pairing steps listed above.

Unpairing the Motion/Image Sensor

  1. Bring the Hub close to the Smart Plug (see Step 1 from above, “Pairing the Motion/Image Sensor”). Put the Hub in the Unpairing Mode by pressing and holding the Pairing Button for 5 seconds until the Status Light of the Hub flashes orange slowly and the Hub beeps twice.
  2. To unpair your Motion/Image Sensor, you’ll need to reset the Motion/Image Sensor to its factory setting by locating the reset hole on the front of the Motion/Image Sensor.
  3. Use a paper clip to push the reset button for 10 seconds. When the Motion/Image Sensor has been reset, a light in the IR slot directly below the reset hole will flash quickly.

Pairing the Smart Plug (Dimmer Module or Appliance Module)

  1. If the Hub and the Smart Plug are not closed together (i.e. approximately within 1m / 3ft), then for best pairing result, bring the Hub into the suggested range with the Smart Plug by first unplugging the Hub from the AC adaptor. You will then see the Status Light flashing white and orange alternately, indicating it is battery powered.
  2. Put the Hub in Pairing mode by pressing the Pairing button once. The Status Light will start flashing green slowly and the Hub will beep once.
  3. Put the Smart Plug in Pairing Mode by plugging it into a 120 volt AC outlet, and then pressing the button on the face of the Smart Plug twice.
  4. When the Smart Plug begin to communicate with the Hub, the Hub’s Status Light will start flashing green quickly. When pairing is successful, the Hub will beep for one second, and the Status Light will stay solid green for 120 seconds. Then the Hub automatically exits the Pairing Mode, and the Status Light will change back to flashing white and orange (if it is battery powered) or solid white (if it is powered by the AC adaptor).
  5. Plug the Hub back to the AC adaptor if it was originally unplugged from it.

If the pairing of the Smart Plug was not successful, that is, you still do not see the Smart Plug on the homepage of your online account and mobile app, try again. If it is still unsuccessful, then try unpairing the Smart Plug first by following the instructions below, “Unpairing the Smart Plug”, and then repeat the pairing steps listed above.

  2. Plug the Smart Plug into a 120 volt AC outlet, and then press the button on the face of the Smart Plug twice.
  3. When unpairing is successful, the Hub will beep for 1 second, and the Hub’s Status Light will stay solid orange for 120 seconds. Then, the Hub automatically exits the Unpairing Mode, indicated by the Status Light being back to flashing white and orange (if it is battery powered) or solid white (if it is powered by the AC adaptor).

Pairing the Door/Window Sensor

  1. If the Hub and the Door/Window Sensor are not closed together (i.e. approximately within 1m / 3ft), then for best pairing result, bring the Hub into the suggested range with the Door/Window Sensor by first unplugging the Hub from the AC adaptor.
