Information for using the features of the My Wi-Fi app

The TELUS My Wi-Fi app is more than an installation tool for your TELUS Boost Wi-Fi system. Using the My Wi-Fi app, you can manage your Wi-Fi boosters’ names and locations, pause Wi-Fi and see what devices are connected to your TELUS Boost Wi-Fi network.

Pause Wi-Fi on your Boost Wi-Fi network

To pause (or resume) Wi-Fi on your Boost Wi-Fi network, follow these instructions.

  1. Open your My Wi-Fi app
  2. On the homepage of your app, tap Pause Wi-Fi, located at the upper right-hand corner of your screen

    Note
    : This will pause the Wi-Fi on your Boost Wi-Fi network, but will leave on the background network required if you are an Optik TV customer.

  3. When you would like to turn your Boost Wi-Fi network back on, select Resume Wi-Fi in the upper right-hand corner of the homepage

Edit your Wi-Fi booster's name

To change the name of your Wi-Fi booster following a location change or simply because you would like to rename your booster in the My Wi-Fi app, follow these instructions.

  1. Open your My Wi-Fi app
  2. From the homepage, tap the icon of the Wi-Fi booster you would like to rename
  3. From the Wi-Fi booster information screen, select Wi-Fi booster details

  4. On the Wi-Fi booster details screen, select Rename Wi-Fi booster
  5. In the field provided, enter a new name for the Wi-Fi booster or select one from the list of suggested names. Then tap Save in the upper right corner of your screen

Change your Wi-Fi booster’s LED brightness

To change the brightness of your Wi-Fi booster’s LED status light to your preference, follow these instructions.

  1. Open your My Wi-Fi app
  2. From the bottom menu, select Settings
  3. From the Settings menu, select LED brightness
  4. From the LED brightness screen, select your desired LED brightness: Off, Medium or High

Change your Boost Wi-Fi network name and password

To change your Boost Wi-Fi network name and password, follow these instructions.

  1. Open your My Wi-Fi app
  2. On the homepage of your app tap Settings, located at the bottom of your screen
  3. Select Wi-Fi settings
  4. From the Wi-Fi settings screen, tap Change Wi-Fi settings
  5. If you are prompted, enter the admin password located on the back of your main Wi-Fi booster—the one connected to your modem

    Note: If you have already entered the admin password for your Boost Wi-Fi system previously, you will not be asked to re-enter it.
  6. Change your Wi-Fi network name or password to your new desired network name or password and select Save located in the upper right-hand corner of your screen

    Note
    : Once you change your Wi-Fi network name or password, you will need to reconnect all of your Wi-Fi connected devices using the new network settings. This includes mobile devices, printers, tablets, etc.
