Information for using the features of the My Wi-Fi app

The TELUS My Wi-Fi app is more than an installation tool for your TELUS Boost Wi-Fi system. Using the My Wi-Fi app, you can manage your Wi-Fi boosters’ names and locations, pause Wi-Fi and see what devices are connected to your TELUS Boost Wi-Fi network.

Understand data usage

Never worry about going over your data plan again! The TELUS My Wi-Fi app provides a convenient view of your data usage for the month, as well as how many days are left before the new cycle begins.

Subscribe to unlimited Internet usage for $15 per month through My TELUS.

Understand speed test results

The TELUS My Wi-Fi app shows you the connection speed from your home to the Internet. You can match the speed you are seeing to your subscribed plan, conveniently located at the top right corner of the screen.

Note: The speed test results are conducted every 6 hours.


Change your Boost Wi-Fi network name and password

To change your Boost Wi-Fi network name and password:

  1. Open your My Wi-Fi app
  2. Navigate to the Wi-Fi tab
  3. Select Edit
  4. Change your Wi-Fi network name or password to your new desired network name or password. Select Save, located in the upper corner of your screen
  5. If you are prompted, enter the admin password located on the back of your Wi-Fi booster that is connected to your modem

    Note: If you have entered the admin password for your Boost Wi-Fi system previously, you will not be asked to re-enter it.


    Note: Once you change your Wi-Fi network name or password, you will need to reconnect all of your Wi-Fi connected devices using the new network settings. This includes mobile devices, printers, tablets, etc.

Pause Wi-Fi on your Boost Wi-Fi network

To pause (or resume) Wi-Fi on your Boost Wi-Fi network:

  1. Open your My Wi-Fi app
  2. On the Overview tab, select Pause Wi-Fi, located at the upper right-hand corner of the overview screen

    Note: This will pause your Boost Wi-Fi network. If you subscribe to Optik TV, it will continue to work.
  3. When you would like to turn your Boost Wi-Fi network back on, select Resume Wi-Fi in the upper right-hand corner of the homepage

Change your Wi-Fi booster’s LED brightness

To change the brightness of your Wi-Fi booster’s LED status light to your preference:

  1. Open your My Wi-Fi app
  2. From the Overview tab, navigate to the dropdown menu
  3. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi booster settings


  4. Select LED brightness, then choose your desired brightness (Off, Medium, High). Changes will be saved automatically and updated right away

Edit your Wi-Fi booster's name

To change the name of your Wi-Fi booster following a location change or simply because you would like to rename your booster in the My Wi-Fi app:

  1. Open your My Wi-Fi app
  2. Navigate to the Network tab
  3. Tap the Wi-Fi booster you would like to rename
  4. Select Rename Wi-Fi booster
  5. Select a name from the list of suggested names or navigate to the bottom to find Custom name
  6. Select Next in the bottom of your screen

Share your Wi-Fi name and password

There may be a time when you need to share your Wi-Fi name and password with somebody else in your home. There is a much easier way to do so with TELUS Boost Wi-Fi:

  1. Open your My Wi-Fi app on a device connected to your TELUS Boost Wi-Fi
  2. Navigate to the Wi-Fi tab
  3. Select the Share button under the Wi-Fi details
  4. Select how you would like to share the information (SMS, cloud sharing, etc.)
