Call waiting on your mobile device

Learn to set up, enable or disable call waiting on your mobile phone

Call Waiting lets you receive incoming calls when you’re already on the phone. You can answer the second call or let it go to voicemail.

Answer Call Waiting on 4G Devices

  • To answer the second call, look at the on screen menu on your phone it will provide you with an option to Accept or Answer
  • Your first call is put on hold and you can talk to the new caller
  • You can alternate between callers by using the menu options
  • To end the active call, press END

Enable Call Waiting on 3G Devices

  • To answer the second call, press the Send key
  • Your first call is put on hold and you can talk to the new caller
  • To alternate between calls, press the Send key
  • To end one of the calls, ask that caller to hang up. Press the Send key to talk to the other caller
  • To end both calls, press the End key

Note: When you're on a 411, 611, or 911 call, Call Waiting is automatically turned off.

Disable Call Waiting on 3G Devices

You can turn off Call Waiting for one call only. After the call ends, the service is resumed.

  1. Dial *70, and then the area code and phone number
  2. Press the Send key. Call Waiting is disabled for this call only. Incoming callers will hear a busy tone

Note: If you have Voicemail, incoming callers will be able to leave a message.
