TELUS Pollinator Fund for Good presents Health Impact Investor Challenge with Spring Activator

Fund Updates · Dec 10, 2021

As part of our ongoing commitment to advancing healthcare solutions, the TELUS Pollinator Fund for Good has another exciting opportunity up ahead for health-focused entrepreneurs and investors. Working with Spring Activator, the Health Impact Investor Challenge will run March to May 2022 and focus on investing in inclusive healthcare innovation and accelerating early-stage healthcare solutions - one of the primary pillars of the Pollinator Fund.

Now, more than ever, healthcare is at the forefront of our day-to-day lives, and the COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated the urgent need for tangible solutions that transform and enable equitable access for Canadians. Through this collaboration with Spring, the challenge will enable more startups to drive change and create better health outcomes for those in need. Emphasis will be placed on measurable, beneficial impacts in healthcare, alongside a financial return for investors, while also empowering early-stage startups in the industry across Canada.

With a cohort-based approach to education and training, this challenge is not only about amplifying future businesses to success, but also leveraging the great networks, connections, and people who are the leaders of the future. The education and training is interspersed with a series of pitch events, which culminate in the angel cohort awarding one startup an investment of up to $100,000.

As we head into a new year, we want to continue to build on TELUS’ legacy of leveraging our globally-leading technology – coupled with our human ingenuity – to enable entrepreneurs and investors to create better social outcomes in the communities where we live, work, and serve. At TELUS our team knows health. Whether through our TELUS Health services, programs, mobile clinics, or virtual support, we have seen how we can further outcomes for humanity by coming together to do good work, and we aim to amplify these efforts further into 2022.

Applications for the entrepreneur cohort will close on January 28, 2022, while investor applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until the cohort is filled.
