How it works

Get 24/7 access to emergency support at the push of a button whether you’re at home or on the go.

STEP 1

Alert received

When the emergency button is pressed and held for three seconds or the fall detection feature detects a fall.

STEP 2

Get a call through your pendant

You’ll get a call through your pendant’s two-way speaker from a virtual assistant to ask if you need help.

If you don’t need help, you can cancel the call.

STEP 3

Family or friends contacted

If you ask for help or are unable to respond, you will be transferred to a Medical Alert Operator who will then follow the contact instructions in your profile.

STEP 4

Emergency services contacted

If the situation requires, the Medical Alert operator will contact emergency services.

Can I use TELUS Health Medical Alert Pendant outside of my home?

Is TELUS Health Medical Alert compatible with my pacemaker?

We suggest that you contact the manufacturer of your pacemaker and your physician and inquire about whether your pacemaker is susceptible to RF emissions consistent with the frequency of our device. TELUS Health Medical Alert Pendant emits a radio frequency (RF) Operating Bands Telus LTE CAT1 FDD B2, B4, B12 = Band 2 is 1900MHz. Band 4 is 1700MHz. Band 12 is 700MHz. is associated with standard 2G and 3G cellular communication, and it is in compliance with FCC Part 15 restrictions, including those for radiated emissions.

How does the fall detection feature work on TELUS Health Medical Alert?

The fall detection feature on TELUS Health Medical Alert uses motion technology guidelines like algorithms and sensors to help detect the occurrence of a fall. It is usually more accurate when the device is worn with the provided lanyard on your chest over clothing. If the device detects a fall, it will call an operator who can dispatch emergency services and/or contact your emergency contacts if needed. In some instances, the fall detection feature might not detect all falls. If you do fall, do not wait for the call; always press and hold the button for help when possible. The device includes an alarm cancelling feature so that if you don't need assistance, you can tell the operator when asked.

If you are an existing TELUS Mobility or Home Solutions customer, you can save $10/month on either a 1-year term or month-to-month pricing on both TELUS Health Mobile Medical Alert Pendant or LivingWell Companion Home plans by using promo code 10LOYALTY when placing an order online or by phone. A cancellation fee may apply for early termination of the service agreement, equal to $15 multiplied by the number of months remaining in the service agreement, except in Quebec, where it cannot exceed $50. Equipment must be returned in good condition upon cancellation of service, otherwise a replacement cost will be charged to the account.

TELUS Health Medical Alert Pendant operates anywhere in Canada where cellular coverage is available. GPS capabilities are approximate and may not always be possible.
One-time $35 activation fee applies to all new orders of TELUS Health Mobile Medical Alert Pendant or LivingWell Companion products.
Consent from the end-user of the device is required to activate these functionalities and can be removed at any time.
Compared to similar mobile devices with 24/7 Central Monitoring Services and available 2-way communication.
TELUS Health Medical Alert has an IP67 water resistant rating and can be worn in the shower. It should not be submerged and should be towel-dried after exposure to water.
