Removing an automation device from your system
To remove an automation device from your TELUS SmartHome Security system, follow these instructions here
Qolsys Panel (2019 and after)
- On your control panel, go to Settings
- Select Advanced settings
- Enter your master code
- Select Z-Wave devices
- Select Clear Device. The control panel will now send a “clear” signal
- Trigger the device or press the learn button* to remove it from your system. Once complete, the control panel will return to the Z-Wave Devices menu
2GIG Panel (before 2019)
- On your control panel, go to Services
- If a “Z-Wave feature not available” message appears, call 1-855-255-8828 to have Z-Wave activated on your control panel
- Select Z-Wave
- Select Toolbox on the bottom right-hand corner
- Enter your master code
- Select Remove devices. The control panel will then send a “clear” signal
- Trigger the device or press the learn button to clear it from the system
How to trigger each device in learn mode
To remove a device from your system, you will need to trigger the device or press the "Learn" button. The "Learn" button varies for each device. See reference table below.

| Smart Light Bulb | Power the light bulb off then on |
| Smart Plug (Appliance or Dimmer) | Press the learn button on the front of the plug-in appliance or dimmer module twice |
| Smart Door Lock | Press the A button |
| Smart Range Extender or Z-Wave Repeater | Press the button on the side of the device |
| Smart Garage Door Opener | Press the small button on the side of the device |
| Smart Thermostat | With the thermostat mode set to Off, press and hold the "down" button on the thermostat. Release the button when the radio icon lights up. |
