Getting connected to TELUS PureFibre

Welcome to Canada’s fastest internet

You aren’t on the TELUS PureFibre™ network yet, but we want to connect you as quickly as possible.

Below is important information about the service installation appointment you booked for new TELUS PureFibre services.

There is some work that must be completed outside of your home before the date of your booked installation appointment. We need your permission to access your premises so one of our installation partners will be contacting you to arrange access.

What’s next

Thanks for ordering TELUS PureFibre and booking an installation appointment. Just one more step is required in preparation for your service installation, then we’ll take care of the rest.

You give us access

One of our trusted TELUS PureFibre partner technicians will contact you to arrange for access to the outside of your home or business. To avoid delays, it’s important that you respond quickly. Once we receive your permission the partner will complete the necessary work in order to get your premises connected.

We’ll connect you

After the outdoor portion of the work is completed you are ready for the appointment you booked. Our service technicians will complete all the remaining inside work and activate your new services.

Installing TELUS PureFibre to your home

Depending on the location, there are two main methods of installation: hanging it overhead or burying it underground. Sometimes it’s a combination of the two. Generally, most of the work is carried out within two metres of your property line on city zoned land. Please note that even if we have to bury the cable, the work will not affect your property in any substantial way. We will restore your property to the same condition it was in prior to the installation.

3 ways to get connected

Overhead Access

The fibre from your nearest utility pole is extended to a small feeder box we install on the side of your home or business.

If there is a locked gate, dog(s) in the yard, or access is physically blocked, our TELUS PureFibre installers will  contact you to arrange access.

Buried Access

If an underground pathway already exists, we’ll use it. Otherwise, we’ll dig a pathway – which we’ll fully restore to its original condition.

It is important to note that if any digging is required our TELUS PureFibre installers will provide a form for you to sign with details on the necessary work. We CAN NOT proceed until the form is signed and returned to the installers (usually by email).

Check out the video for more details.

Combined Access

This method is a combination of Overhead and Buried access. You’ll have the fibre connecting partly overhead and partly underground.
