Supporting health professionals through challenging times
Health professionals across the country are experiencing high levels of burnout, with extraordinary wait times for emergency care and millions of Canadians without a family doctor leading to severe personnel shortages.
TELUS is committed to working with the government and healthcare partners to take dedicated action to change what really matters. By investing in digital infrastructure, teamwork and efficiencies across the health system can be improved, which may reduce the burden for those at the frontline.

Virtual care
Patients are provided with options in how and when they navigate the system with the TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) integrated virtual care features.
The CHR provides synchronous (video/audio) and asynchronous (messaging) virtual care from the patient chart to provide tools for continuous and patient-engaged care.
Patient access to health information
Patients can view health information sent by their clinic in an accessible and user-friendly solution with the CHR Connect Mobile app.
They can easily join their virtual visits and communicate with their provider through video, audio and chat messaging and complete assigned Qnaires.
Online appointment booking
Patients making appointments with their primary provider and extended care team is easy. With CHR, they can schedule appointments at their own convenience.
Using the TELUS Collaborative Health Online Appointment Booking Site, patients can book appointments that work best for them.
Clinical standardization
The TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) has hundreds of the most commonly-used provincial and local forms, such as lab and diagnostic imaging requisition forms and encounter templates.
Plus, our standardized questionnaires flow directly into encounter notes and records, enabling you to streamline your clinical workflow and help reduce documentation time.
Provider data sharing
Providers in the circle of care have access to all up-to-date patient information easily and safely with CHR’s highly granular mechanism for controlling permissions-based access to patient information.
The CHR supports workflows across multiple locations, including physical and virtual locations.
Integrated care
Collaborative by design, the CHR provides powerful, team-based care workflows around the patient, who is empowered to communicate and share data to optimize their own outcomes.
The CHR is fully adaptable to multi-disciplinary teams with varying requirements (family physician, specialist, AHP) and large multi-location clinics.
Advanced analytics
Data is power. Armed with the right data, you can make informed, evidence-based decisions that help drive performance across the organization and improve clinical and financial outcomes.
CHR Analytics provides data insights and business intelligence in real-time, right from the TELUS Collaborative Health Record.
Reporting and measurement
Real-time data can give OHTs transparency into critical business and patient indicators.
With CHR Analytics and standardized patient questionnaires, high-quality, patient and provider data can give OHTs a lens into individual patient health, a patient group or a bigger picture of an entire population.
High quality collaborative care
Patients can experience smooth transitions between providers who have the right information at the right time with TELUS’ powerful combination of innovative solutions and a single common data platform.
TELUS’ Omara Health Exchange enables health teams to simplify complex tasks like identity, interoperability and data sharing across the ecosystem.
Convenient access to data
With TELUS’ Omara Health Exchange, disparate systems can be directly integrated to enable convenient access to data in point of care systems
Using a standards-based technology platform, such as FHIR, it enables healthcare teams to seamlessly and safely integrate across the healthcare system.
A reimagined experience for patients and care teams.
Common challenges faced today
Caregivers are spending too much time on the phone scheduling appointments and not enough time with the patient themselves. Patients are not always able to see their primary care provider when they need to and are repeating their personal stories to many healthcare teams and they often don’t have access to their health information. Instead of filling out information ahead of time, patients are often using their appointment time to explain their symptoms and medical history.
Creating a healthier future with CHR
With the TELUS Collaborative Health Record, patients and caregivers can use an Online Appointment Booking Site to make appointments with their primary provider and extended care team at their own convenience. They have the choice to engage with their provider in-person or via digital tools and can access their health information sent from their clinic in a user-friendly and accessible mobile app. The Collaborative Health Record engages patients as active participants as they move through their healthcare journey, streamlining the encounter for care teams.
