Last year, TELUS Health responded to a request for information from the B.C. Medical Services Commission (MSC) about the LifePlus Program. The Commission’s subsequent injunction was related to the separation between insured and uninsured care, and has since been withdrawn.

Following a highly collaborative, transparent and thoughtful process, TELUS Health and the Medical Services Commission have come to a mutual agreement. This agreement will see the MSC withdrawing its Petition against LifePlus and TELUS Health modifying some of the program’s operational processes over time to ensure a clearer delineation between insured and uninsured care delivery while maintaining continuity of care for its clients.

Annual health screenings

As a LifePlus member, you’ll receive a comprehensive assessment where we conduct a full head-to-toe examination, review your medical history and lifestyle habits, determine what your health risks are, and create a plan that’s right for you.

Tracking your health risks is more important than ever, this virtual service allows us to continue to serve your needs while keeping us all as safe as possible.

Expert preventive health programming

We believe that better health requires a complete understanding of your current physical and mental health status and a mutual commitment between you and our multidisciplinary Care Team to achieve optimal health. Our focus is health promotion and disease prevention so that our patients live their healthiest lives.

Advanced screenings and diagnostics

As part of your annual health assessment, we will perform diagnostic tests with the objective of detecting disease as early as possible, and understanding any underlying risk factors that are impacting our patients. We will monitor any trends in your screening and test results year over year to quickly detect any changes in health status and proactively react to issues as they arise and before they significantly impact your well-being.

Consultations and health plan development

Everything that happens in the mind is connected to the body. That’s why we adopt an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to health. You’ll receive an extensive consultation with an experienced team of healthcare professionals, including a registered dietitian, a kinesiologist (to assess your fitness and physical movement), and a member of our psychological and brain health team—all of whom will develop a preventive health plan tailored specially for you.
