Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together 

As a Senior Product Owner you’ll be responsible for defining a product vision that aligns to strategic business objectives by confidently leading the strategy planning of your product/portfolio, including the end-to-end journey of the digital experiences across, and

Your key drivers will be enabling the team to meet its objectives by leading, organizing, planning and pivoting when required. You will aid in the removal of impediments and buffer the team from distracting influences. Team members will look to you to facilitate collaboration across TELUS Digital and beyond. To enhance the shared ownership of projects, you will provide consistent communication and visibility to our stakeholders, and help manage risks to keep the program streams moving forward. Your focus will be on driving outcomes for the team and helping communicate the status of those outcomes to the broader team. 

Here’s how 

  • Defining the product vision that aligns to strategic business objectives and prioritization of digital experiences  in partnership with stakeholders to achieve the vision and business outcomes (ROI). You will do this successfully by leveraging and interpreting data to plan and adapt the product roadmap to deliver on the strategic vision.
  • Define a tangible product roadmap and maximize the value of the products delivered by  proactively managing the product backlog and prioritize work based on feedback and value. 
  • Clarifying ambiguity, articulating a strategy, devising the plans needed to execute on the strategy and reporting back on outcomes delivered.  Proactively engages with stakeholders to plan long-term roadmap and manage and coordinate portfolio backlog
  • Being accountable for product KPIs; Tracking, analyzing and reporting on team metrics.

  • Assisting with the collection and synthesis of information and the development of deliverables. Ensuring all activities related to planning, design, development, testing and deployment are accounted for and carried out. Identifying, addressing, and reporting on dependencies and risks to delivery.
  • Coaching the team to embrace and embed lean and agile practices in their work, such as collaboration, prioritization, team accountability and visibility 
  • Scheduling and leading key agile ceremonies such as kick offs, planning sessions, internal alignment meetings and product demos. Enabling the team to become self-organized and empowered, so they can consistently deliver on their commitments. 
  • Help drive solid stakeholder interlock & partnerships. Liaise with a diverse group of cross-functional stakeholders within the organization; collaborate on interdependent roadmaps and technology investments to achieve mutual business outcomes. Leverage relationships to gather additional requirements and feedback 
  • Having a bias for action. Confidence in decision making authority and scope - comfort in ambiguity to chart direction.

  • Have a minimum 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master, Project Manager or Program Manager
  • Are a master facilitator who is able to lead successful internal discovery sessions, requirement gathering meetings, retrospectives and design jams 
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills 
  • Have experience working in complex, multi-project, multi-team environments. 
  • Are willing to take ownership of whatever you’re working on, and be accountable for the results. Are also self-confident and assertive when required to constructively problem solve.
  • Are creative, resourceful and innovative at tackling complex challenges

  • Have strong presentation skills and the ability to understand your audience and create or adapt messages to communicate effectively with stakeholders 
  • Are able to develop and articulate succinct business rationales supporting recommendations 
  • Are highly organized and detail oriented 
  • Love to roll your sleeves up and get things done 
  • Can deal with uncertainty and take charge of difficult situations 
  • Flexibility to work PST hours on rare occasions for urgent asks
