Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together
Working within our Platform Tools and Technology team, you’ll play a key role in creating seamless digital experiences for our team members through engaging and optimally structured technical content. Specifically, you’ll help set the direction and architecture of the content for our Digital Platform, collaborating closely with multi-disciplined technical, content and design practitioners, our Principals and Centres of Excellence. It is important to note that this position is not a content writer role, it is a software role.
As the Senior Content Architect at TELUS Digital, you are an experienced content professional – responsible for using data and best practices to develop content architecture that connects project, business and content goals to user needs. The ability to communicate content value, strategy and requirements to stakeholders and team members is a core component of this role.
The Senior Structured Content Architect is expected to contribute to the overall practice culture by helping coach fellow content practitioners, as well as build and document content frameworks for users to know where and how content fits for the overall user experience. Educating our partners and teams by sharing best practices and learnings ensures we are able to design great content with the best architecture.
Champion the use of context-agnostic, reusable, atomic content, while delivering the right content, in the right medium at the right time (we currently use Contentful for our structured content)
Drive excellence in the domain of structured technical content by understanding how to manage structured content schemas
Prepare, manage and communicate a content governance model for how team members will manage technical content on an ongoing basis
Design, and provide oversight on application architectures that support user business requirements
Audit and understand how we currently structure our technical content for developers, and develop taxonomies that best group, classify and label this type of content
Defining/designing/implementing the development architecture leveraging CI/CD principles
Recommend best practices in content architecture and help teams move to these recommended practices
Help rationalize and reduce the spend on structured content tooling, and understand the implications of usage models for cost vs. benefits
Be our resident expert and grow the practice and understanding of structured technical content across TELUS
Lead the development of self-serve material to onboard and appropriately use structured content
Represent structured content expertise to assist internal partners and external vendors to develop solutions
Participate in the development of conceptual and logical architectures with packaged software and cloud native technologies
Design, and provide oversight on application architectures that support client's business requirements
Sits on the Technology Review Board, and helps shape technology related policies
Drives content architecture and structured content to improve developers experience across Digital platforms
You’re the missing piece of the puzzle
3-5+ years of hands-on experience with content platforms such as Contentful & other CMS technologies
3-5+ years of copywriting/editing and content management experience
Familiarity with technical tools, such as GitHub, Openshift, databases and GCP tools
Detail oriented and an astute organizer with the curiosity to continuously seek out missing information
Ability to curate technical content from multiple disciplines across TELUS and work with stakeholders to understand their needs for the Simplify Hub
Demonstrable experience driving business KPIs with complex projects
A good understanding of content strategy best practices, including journey mapping, research requirements, content templates/decks and content hierarchies
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills – an experienced writer and editor
Someone who can gracefully give and receive feedback – a proven consensus builder
Adept at working in a highly-collaborative, lean, Agile environment
Highly detail oriented and organized, with exceptional analytical skills
Able to communicate content strategy rationale and build consensus
Experience with classifying and optimizing technical content to improve the developer experience
Understanding the importance of creating accessible content and how that applies to WCAG 2.0 AA principles
Understanding the developer lifecycle (from app templates, pipelines, health, etc.) and experience (ways of working) with tools and technology used to support these practices and processes
