Creating an accessible TELUS digital experience starts with the Product Owner's project plan. Planning for accessibility from the beginning of a project will save costs and time. Each member of your team is involved in the accessibility process.
The Matrix is a validation tool for Product Owners, Developers, and Quality Assurance team members that shows considerations that need to be met when creating an accessible digital project.
Here’s is how you can use the Accessibility Matrix on your next project:
- Review accessibility considerations that need to be met to create an accessible digital project
- Set your priorities based on the key tasks required from your application. For example, if your application depends on visuals (non-text), then assign priorities to contrast, colour blindness and image description
- Include accessibility in your work plan when assigning work to your content, design, development and testing team members
- Make your own copy of the Accessibility Matrix document and use it to track your project’s accessibility work
- Test your pages for accessibility using tools provided in the document
