Discover how to turn off wrist detection on your Apple Watch. If you're using a passcode, wrist detection locks your watch when you're not wearing it, so your information stays secure.

  1. Note: If you're using a passcode, Wrist Detection locks your watch when you're not wearing it, so your information stays secure.

  2. Step 1 of 7:

    From Settings, turn the Digital Crown to scroll to Passcode.

  3. Step 2 of 7:

    Tap Passcode.

    Step 2/7

  4. Step 3 of 7:

    Turn the Digital Crown to scroll to Wrist Detection.

    Step 3/7

  5. Step 4 of 7:

    Tap the Wrist Detection switch.

    Note: If you have a passcode set up, enter your passcode on the next screen.

  6. Step 5 of 7:

    Turn the Digital Crown to scroll to Turn Off.

    Tap Turn Off.
