A feature of a device OS that lets you have multiple apps, widgets and services running at the same time. You can have notes, videos and browser windows hover over other apps on your device.

Learn how to manage your open applications. You can switch between and close any apps that are running on your device. You can also see all of your currently running apps by accessing the Recents screen.
Note: Use the Recent Apps button to quickly switch between apps and close apps not in use. In this example, we're showing how to copy an address in a message and paste it into Google Maps.
From the Home screen, swipe up and hold to view your recent apps.
Note: Recently opened apps will appear in the order you last used them.
Select an app.
Note: Some apps let you have multiple windows open at a time. If you have more than one open, you can go directly to any window.
Touch and hold the message you'd like to copy.
Tap the Copy icon.
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold to acces your recent apps.
Select the app you'd like to view.
Tap the Search here field.
Touch and hold the Search here field.
Select an option.
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold to access your recent apps.
