Creating a shortcut

Set up shortcuts on your device to have commonly used actions right at your fingertips.
- Step 1 of 17:
From the Home screen, swipe to Shortcuts.
- Step 2 of 17:
Tap Shortcuts.
- Step 3 of 17:
Tap the Plus icon.
- Step 4 of 17:
Tap the Search field.
- Step 5 of 17:
Search for an action you'd like to automate.
Note: We will be creating an action for sending a text message. Steps may vary depending on what action you choose.
- Step 6 of 17:
Select the action you'd like to automate.
- Step 7 of 17:
Tap Message.
- Step 8 of 17:
Enter the text of the message.
- Step 9 of 17:
Tap Recipients.
- Step 10 of 17:
Enter the name of the contact you always want the message to be sent to.
- Step 11 of 17:
Select a contact.
- Step 12 of 17:
Tap Done.
- Step 13 of 17:
Tap the Details icon.
- Step 14 of 17:
Tap the Shortcut Name field.
- Step 15 of 17:
Enter a name for your shortcut.
- Step 16 of 17:
Tap Done.
- Step 17 of 17:
You've completed the steps!
