Learn how to insert and remove a SIM card from your device. Your cellular service is activated through your SIM card; without it you cannot use cellular features. Note that a SIM card tray removal tool may be needed.

  1. Note: Don't touch the gold contacts on your SIM card. That could damage the card. If you’re using a new SIM card, you can activate it by calling your carrier.

  2. Step 1 of 3:

With your device disconnected from a power source, lift the device to find the SIM card slot.

Note: You must have a SIM card inserted in your device to broadcast a wireless connection over your carrier's network.

    Step 1/3

  3. Step 2 of 3:

Slide the SIM card in or out of the slot with the gold contacts facing the front of the device.

Note: A SIM card may already be inserted in your device.

    Step 2/3

  4. Step 3 of 3:

    You've completed the steps!

    Step 3/3
