How to solve common voicemail access issues

My mailbox is reset


If you are moving your Home phone service address, or if you are upgrading your Home phone service from copper to fiber, your voicemail will be reset and all your stored messages will be removed. You will need to set up your voicemail for the first time.

My mailbox is locked


If the password for your voicemail was entered incorrectly three times in the same session then, as a security measure, the voicemail will be inaccessible for a short period of time. Follow the steps below:

  1. Hang up
  2. Wait 5 to 10 minutes
  3. The mailbox will unlock. Access your mailbox and try your password again

The mailbox is not responding when I press a key


If you can’t access your voicemail or the system is not responding, verify that your phone is set to tone and not pulse. To activate tone:

  1. On your phone, look for a switch that allows you to set your phone to tone. This is typically located along the sides of the phone
  2. Switch to Tone
