How to change your Wi-Fi network's name and password (Actiontec T1200H or T2200H)

Your Actiontec T1200H/T2200H wireless gateway features a preconfigured home Wi-Fi network. Your home Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password are printed on a sticker located on the bottom of your wireless gateway.

To set up a personalized secure home Wi-Fi network and wirelessly connect to the Internet, complete these steps while using a wired Internet connection:

  1. Launch your Web browser
  2. Enter the following into the address bar
  3. From your keyboard, press Enter. The Home screen is displayed
  4. To log in, enter the following information:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: it is printed on the bottom of the gateway under GUI Access (unless you've changed it)
  5. Select Login. The Welcome screen is displayed
    • If it is your first time logging into your gateway you will be asked if you would like to change your password
  6. From the top of the next screen, select Wireless Setup. The Basic Settings screen is displayed
  7. Complete the following fields:
    • Wireless Radio: Select Enable
    • SSID Broadcast: Select Enable
    • SSID Name: The name you and others will see when searching for your wireless network
    • Security: For enhanced security, WPA / WPA2 is recommended
    • WPA Type: Select WPA or WPA2 - Personal
    • Encryption: Select Both
    • Security Key Type: Select Use Custom Key / Passphrase, then clear the corresponding text-box and type your desired password (between 8-63 characters). Note: Your password must be made up of letters, numbers, or a combination of both
  8. Select Apply
