2020 TELUS World Juniors THE CODE Social Contest
Contest rules to win VIP tickets to the Gold Medal game on January 5, 2020
1. HOW TO ENTER
No purchase necessary to enter the 2020 TELUS World Juniors THE CODE Social Contest.
There are three (3) methods of entry into the contest:
(1) By liking, commenting or retweeting THE CODE contest related Twitter posts; or
(2) By commenting or liking THE CODE contest related Instagram posts; or
(3) By liking or commenting THE CODE contest related Facebook posts.
Contest runs December 20, 2018 to January 5, 2019. Limit of one (1) entry per day per person during the contest period, regardless of method of entry (up to a maximum of six (6) entries during the contest period). This contest is intended for residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) and will be interpreted according to Canadian law.
The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
An Entry that contains subject matter that, in the opinion of the contest administrators may violate community standards or is otherwise of questionable taste will be considered void. TELUS does not accept entries for this contest by any other means. In the event of a dispute, the person who is the holder of the Twitter, Facebook or Instagram account as specified on their entries will be deemed to be the entrant.
2. THE PRIZE
There will be one (1) prize awarded. Winner will receive a trip for two (2) to the 2020 World Juniors Gold medal game in Czech Republic (approximate retail value $6000). Prize includes the following:
- Round-trip flight for two (2) to Czech Republic (economy class)
- Hotel accommodation for two (2) nights in Czech Republic (one room/double occupancy)
- Two (2) VIP tickets to the Gold Medal game on January 5, 2020
Actual value may vary depending on point of departure. Winner is not entitled to monetary difference between actual prize value and stated approximate value. If Prize winner’s residence is within 300km of the event location a flight will not be provided and will be substituted with ground transportation. If the Prize winner is unable to accept the Prize for any reason, prize will be forfeited. All expenses not specified in these Contest Rules, including without limitation, meals, gratuities, incidentals and other expenses, are the Prize Winner’s (and guests) sole responsibility. Winner and guest are also responsible for all costs incurred to and from the departure points. Winner and his/her guest must travel on the same itinerary. No changes to the travel dates or passenger names are permitted once the booking has been made. All flight and hotel arrangements will be handled by TELUS.
This contest is open to all residents of Canada, excluding Quebec, who have reached the age of majority according to the laws of the Province where they reside. Entries must be received on or before the closing date of January 5, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. PST. Entrants who are customers of TELUS at the time of entry and/or at the time of prize award must have their TELUS accounts in good standing (with a current account balance that is no more than 30 days past due) in order to be eligible to win the prize. This contest excludes employees of TELUS Corporation, its affiliated companies or subsidiaries (“TELUS”) and TELUS’ advertising and promotional agencies and members of their respective households. Entrants must be of the age of majority in their province of residence in order to be eligible to win the prize.
4. THE DRAW
Winner will be selected on January 10, 2019 at 11:00 AM PST. The selected entrant will be notified by private message on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram immediately following the draw (based on the method of entry). If the selected entrant does not respond back to the contest administrator within one (1) business day or if the selected entrant does not comply with all contest rules, another entrant will be selected from the remaining eligible entries. To win, the selected entrant must correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by email.
The winning entrants of the prize must sign a standard Release and Indemnity form confirming compliance with contest rules and releasing TELUS and its directors, officers, partnership interest holders, representatives, advertising and promotional agencies from any and all liability arising out of, pursuant to, or as a result of the carrying out of the contest including liability arising from the acceptance of and usage of the prizes as awarded. Failure to comply with the Contest Rules or to sign and return the Release form within 2 days of receipt will result in disqualification and another entry will be drawn. The winner’s travel guest will also be required to sign a standard release form.
All entries become the property of TELUS. TELUS assumes no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged or misdirected entries or for any failure of Twitter, Facebook or Instagram for any problems or technical malfunction of any computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any Twitter or Instagram message, e-mail or entry to be received by TELUS on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from this contest. TELUS reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to change, cancel or suspend this contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of TELUS and its advertising and promotional agencies corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest or for any other reason at any time without prior notice.
Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, mechanically reproduced, mutilated, forged, falsified, altered, tampered with or unlawful in any way. Entries submitted by unauthorized means or by spamming will be disqualified. In the event that it has been determined that an entry has been made in an manner not sanctioned by these rules and/or an entrant has submitted more than the number of entries permitted by these rules, the entrant and all of his/her entries will be disqualified. Entrants agree to abide by the contest rules and the decisions of the contest judges, which are final. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations.
