You will need to have a home phone on a copper line - this is to ensure continuous service. Our Customer Care agents will be happy to help you determine whether your home is eligible for Home service.
LivingWell Companion Home is best used in smaller footprints - our technicians will help determine the best place to install the base unit so that it can be heard and/or accessible. If you live in a multi-story home and/or want coverage to include a wider range (garden, detached garage), please consider LivingWell Companion Go, as this option covers users anywhere in Canada with cellular service.
Once an alert is triggered, our trained operators will engage in a 2-way call with you through the speaker in your device (Base unit for Home; mobile pendant for Go). You may hear a series of beeps before the connection occurs.
The fall detection 'sensing' comes from data gathered by an array of sensors located in the device including multiple accelerometers, a magnetometer and a gyroscope. These sensors capture data that yield over 190 different parameters, such as orientation change, impact intensity and impact speed. If the analysis determines that a fall has occurred, an alert is automatically triggered.

Using the service

You should test your service monthly by pressing the device’s help button and engaging in a 2-way call with our trained operators. Just let our trained operators know that you are just testing the unit.
LivingWell Companion Home comes in a durable highly water-resistant shell that's splash- and rain-resistant. It's not suitable for extended and continuous water submersion. For showering or bathing, we recommend you wear the device on your lanyard or set it on the edge of the shower or bath area, so that it is within reach.
The LivingWell Companion Home without fall detection pendant can be worn as either a pendant around the neck or using the wristband attachment. You will receive one pendant with a lanyard, along with the wrist band accessories that can be easily changed. The LivingWell Companion Home with fall detection comes with a lanyard and can only be worn as a pendant.
