Set up Globetrotter email on your computer using Windows Live Mail

Access your Globetrotter email account through Windows Live Mail 2012

In the Gmail web interface


  1. Right-click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select Settings
  2. From the top menu, select Forwarding and POP/IMAP

To use IMAP (recommended method):

  1. In that menu under IMAP access, select Enable IMAP
  2. Select Save changes

In Windows Live Mail 2012


Microsoft is no longer offering the Windows Essentials 2012 suite for download. But if you already have it installed, here are the instructions to set up TELUS email on your computer using Windows Live Mail.

  1. Launch Windows Live Mail
  2. From the top taskbar, select Accounts
  3. Select Email. The Add your email accounts window appears
  4. Complete the required information as follows:
    • Email address: Your TELUS.net email address. For example, john.doe@telus.net
    • Password: Your TELUS.net email password
      Note: If you’ve forgotten your telus.net email password, call us at 1-888-811-2323. Our agents will help you reset your password
    • Check Remember this password
    • Display name for your sent messages: The name you would like recipients to receive
    • Check Manually configure server settings
  5. When you're finished, select Next. The configure server settings screen is displayed
  6. Complete the required information as follows:
    • Incoming server information:
      • Server type: Select IMAP
      • Server address: imap.gmail.com
      • Port: 993
      • Verify Requires a secure connection (SSL) is checked
      • Authenticate using: Clear text
      • Logon user name: Your TELUS.net email username
    • Outgoing server information:
      • Server address: smtp.gmail.com
      • Port: 465
      • Verify the Requires a secure connection (SSL) box is checked
      • Verify the Requires Authentication is checked
  7. When you're finished, select Next
  8. Select Finish

Your Globetrotter email account is set up for use with Windows Live Mail.
