HOW TO ENTER & ELIGIBILITY
No Purchase Necessary. To enter, entrants must:
- Create a post, on Twitter or Instagram;
- Tag your favourite small business and explain how you are making a commitment to support them ; and
- Use #StandWithOwners.
Entries must be posts that are visible to the public - entries that are not visible will not be considered. Due to the time limitations, Instagram Stories will not be considered for this campaign.
There is no limit to the number of entries submitted during the contest period. This contest is intended for residents of Canada and will be interpreted according to Canadian law.
Contest runs June 22 to October 17 2021 at 11:59 PM EST.
The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Twitter or Instagram.
An Entry that contains subject matter that, in the opinion of the contest administrators may violate community standards or is otherwise of questionable taste will be considered void. TELUS does not accept entries for this contest by any other means. In the event of a dispute, the person who is the holder of the Twitter or Instagram account as specified on their entries will be deemed to be the entrant.
By entering the contest, you state that you have obtained consent (if your Entry contains a person) from everyone in the photo and/or video. If your photo and/or video contains a minor (under the age of 18) parental or legal guardian consent is required.
To be eligible, entries must be received during the contest dates. This contest is open to all residents of Canada, who have reached the age of majority according to the laws of the Province where they reside. This contest excludes employees of TELUS Corporation, its affiliated companies or subsidiaries, its advertising and promotional agencies and members of their respective immediate households and any person domiciled with any of the above.
An Entry will be considered void if:
- The post does not contain the hashtag “#StandWithOwners”
- The entry, in the opinion of the contest administrators, contains content that infringes any right of any third party (for example, picture copyright)
- The entry contains subject matter that, in the opinion of the contest administrators, may violate community standards or is otherwise of questionable taste; or
- The entry is otherwise unlawful
By entering the contest, the winner consents to the use of their name, city of residence, photograph or video, voice and/or image for publicity purposes in all media used by TELUS, without payment or compensation. Entrants can remove their submissions by deleting the comment or post.
By accepting these Contest Rules, entrants agree that any and all liability related to this contest by TELUS is limited to the value of the Prize(s) as defined hereinafter.
There will be twenty (20) prizes awarded in total. One winner will be selected weekly during the contest period. Each winner will receive the following prize:
- one (1) $500 gift card to the local small business they’ve tagged; andthe entrants post will be profiled on TELUS business’ social media channels throughout the contest period
Note: Given changing COVID restrictions across the country, in the event that the small business tagged by the entrant does not support the purchase of gift cards online, a $500 Visa gift card will be purchased and mailed to the winner in lieu.
Prize(s) must be accepted as awarded and with no substitutions, is/are not transferable unless set out in the Contest Rules and cannot be exchanged with TELUS for cash. TELUS reserves the right to substitute the Prize with a Prize of equivalent value if such prize becomes unavailable for any reason. The chances of winning are dependent upon the total number of eligible entries received.
A random draw for the weekly prize will take place in Toronto, Ontario at approximately 12:00pmEST on or about each Wednesday between June 23 to October 20, 2021.
The winning entrants will be notified by the official @TELUSbusiness or @TELUSaffaires account through the social media platform by which they entered (Twitter or Instagram). If the selected entrant cannot be reached within two (2) business days, or if the selected entrant does not meet all of the conditions of the contest rules, another Entry will be selected. Failure to comply with the Contest Rules will result in disqualification and another entry will be selected.
In order to win, the selected entrant must correctly answer unaided mathematical skill-testing question and will be required to sign a standard release form. If the selected entrant is under the age of majority in his/her province of residence, his/her parent or legal guardian must read and accept these Contest Rules. Failure to answer the skill-testing question correctly, comply with the Contest Rules or sign and return the release form within seven (7) days of receipt will result in disqualification and another entry will be selected until the Prize is awarded.
Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
All entries become the property of TELUS. TELUS assumes no responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged entries. TELUS reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to change, cancel or suspend this contest without prior notice. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, mechanically reproduced, mutilated, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with or unlawful in any way. Entries submitted by unauthorized means will be disqualified. In the event that it has been determined that an entry has been made in a manner not sanctioned by these rules and/or an entrant has submitted more than the number of entries permitted by these rules, the entrant and all of his/her entries will be disqualified. Entrants agree to abide by the contest rules and the decisions of the contest judges, which are final. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations.
All entrants that are customers of TELUS at the time of entry and/or at the time of Prize award must have their TELUS accounts in good standing (with a current account balance that is no more than 30 days past due) in order to be eligible to win the Prize.
